I view clients as the experts in their own lives, and my goal is to create a warm, empathetic, and supportive partnership. I support people experiencing trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. As someone raised in Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya, moving to the United States as a young adult, I am interested in supporting people processing cross-cultural transition and bicultural identity, as well as intergenerational, communal trauma and survivor’s guilt. As a queer therapist, I am passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ clients as well.
I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach primarily based in Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems, as well as therapies such as ACT, CBT, and DBT. I believe in the power of telling our stories, compassionate curiosity with ourselves, and supportive relationships as means of healing.
I also believe our experiences must be processed in the context of systemic factors and that personal wellness cannot be separated from societal wellness. Your various social identities and the way that shapes your lived experiences is important. If you believe I would be a good fit for you, please reach out and I look forward to working together!
